April is Autism Awareness Month
20% of sales from the autism piece jewelry collection (the puzzle necklace and earrings) will benefit Autism Speaks' Western New England Walk Now for Autism.
Jessica was moved to do something when
Autism hit close to home. Her nephew, 4 year old
Cameron was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 2.
Jessica and her family walked last year for Autism
Speaks and raised over $20,000. But this year she
wanted to do more. Jessica says "I never thought
Autism would affect my family. As a mother of two I
was taking things for granted. You think it only
happens to other people not your family."
She wanted to do her part to help so she decided to do
what she does best and create a piece specifically
dedicated to Cameron and the one out of 150 children
being born that will be diagnosed with Autism.
She has seen first hand the struggles and hardships
families with children that have autism go through.
She also has hope because she has seen how through
early intervention there are positive changes
happening in Cameron's life.
She hopes that through the sales of her necklace and
earrings, she will contribute to positive changes for
other children and families.
